Ralph Henry Lewis, Jr., 86, of Roxboro, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2021.
Born in Durham County, he was the son of the late Ralph Henry Lewis, Sr. and Ruth Poe Lewis. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ann Carol Long Lewis, his brother, Richard Glyn Lewis and his sister Joyce Lewis Anderson. Mr. Lewis was a U.S. Army Veteran and a graduate of High Point College. Mr. Lewis was the former owner of Lewis’s Furniture, was a member of Long Memorial United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer and pastor parish committee member for many years.
He was also a member of the Roxboro Kiwanis Club.
Surviving are his two children: Melinda Evers-Lewis and husband, Bert-Jan Evers of Almere, The Netherlands and David Lewis of Roxboro; two grandchildren: Isabelle Evers and Marie-Claire Evers.
Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2021 at Long Memorial United Methodist Church by the Rev. Ed Priestaf. Burial will follow in Burchwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Clayton, Terry Allen, Emmett Ward, Al Taylor, Jamie Mundy, Bob Morgan, Ronnie King, James Woody, Wayne Winstead and Gordon Carver.
