Michael Lee Wilson, died on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2022. Born June 28, 1958, to the late Otha Lee and Stacy Pulliam Wilson in Person County. Michael spent more than 30 years traveling coast to coast while working for H.B. Zachary as a Millwright Superintendent, creating a community of friends wherever he went. He loved to tell a good joke or two, as well as being an amazing storyteller. He took pride in passing down his extensive knowledge to his daughters and son-in-law. He was passionate about helping anyone, all they needed to do was ask. An avid fisherman and golfer, he also enjoyed drag racing and fixing up old trucks in his free time. He was known for finding peaceful moments riding his Harley and mowing the lawn. In recent years he immersed himself in lavish woodworking projects, never doing the same job twice. Everything he made was one of a kind and full of consideration and care. With that being said, his talent for meticulously selecting personalized Christmas gifts was unmatched. Michael was inquisitive. As a lifelong learner he valued a challenge and any opportunity for improvement. Most of all, he was Tom Brady’s biggest fan.
Michael is survived by his daughters, Myranda Meeks and husband Daniel of Hillsborough and Amber Wilson, of Roxboro; his grandson Darren Meeks. In addition, he is survived by his sisters, Barbara Jones, of Monroe, Ga., Brenda Gold Wilson, of Butner, Eloise Tuck and Marva Jo Shotwell, both of Roxboro; his brother and sister-in-law, Kelvin and Mona Wilson, of Roxboro; his nephews Chris Shotwell and Nigel Wilson.
The family received Monday, Sept. 19, 2022 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home at 4950 Boston Road, Roxboro. There will be a private memorial service at a later date.
