One man and a juvenile have been charged with the murder earlier this week of Nancy Duncan Horton.
The two have also been charged in relation to breaking and entering into motor vehicles Monday night.
According to a release from the Person County Sheriff's Office, deputies executed several search warrants on the home of 39-year-old Roger Letroy Wilkerson Wednesday leading to warrants being obtained for his arrest.
While executing those search warrants, evidence was located at his residence in relation to the open murder case leading to Wilkerson being charged with the murder.
The Person County Sheriff's Office said Wilkerson, who was out on bond for breaking and entering in early 2021, was arrested today at East Morehead and Pulliam streets.
In addition to the murder and three warrants already taken out for breaking and entering into motor vehicles, Wilkerson was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed pistol/gun, possession with intent to sell and distribute marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, simple possession of a schedule III and IV controlled substance, and resisting, delaying or obstructing an officer.
Wilkerson is being held without bond for the murder charge and under a combined bond of $500,000 for the other charges.
Juvenile petitions have been obtained for the unnamed second suspect for both the breaking and entering into motor vehicles and for the murder.
The juvenile is being held at the Department of Juvenile Justice, according to the Sheriff's Office.
