Harold Early Gill, 92, of Roxboro, died on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late Early Gill and Maddie Lunsford Gill. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Adell Blackwell Gill; his daughter, Wanda Gail Gill; one brother and four sisters.
Mr. Gill served in the United States Air Force. He was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he was very active member. Mr. Gill was a lifelong tobacco farmer and loved his family, especially his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.
Surviving are his son, Guy Douglas Gill and wife, Donna of Johns Creek, Ga.; three grandchildren: Jennifer Ray (David), Justin Gill (Jennifer) and Catherine Popps (Steven); seven great-grandchildren: Olivia Ray, Henry Ray, Hudson Ray, Jackson Gill, Gavin Gill, Georgia Popps and Nicholas Popps; five sisters: Dorothy Clark, Elsie Davis, Sue Betty Parrott, Clessie Adcock and Lessie Preddy.
Visitation was Monday, Oct. 4 at the Trinity United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
Funeral service was held Monday, Oct. 4, 2021 at Trinity United Methodist Church with the Rev. Denny Freeland and the Rev. Jack Ruth officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
