Danny Franklin Morris


HURDLE MILLS — Danny Franklin Morris, 75, of 9784 Hurdle Mills Rd., Hurdle Mills, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2022.  Born in Person County, Mr. Morris was son of the late James Robert and Virginia Duke Morris and brother of the late James Gary Morris. Mr. Morris was a former firefighter with the Roxboro Fire Department and was the owner of Morris Paint Company.  

He was a former member of the Optimist Club, a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and served on the Hurdle Mills Volunteer Fire Department Board of Directors.

Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Jane Breeze Morris; three children,

Kevin Morris and wife Julie of Hurdle Mills, Amanda Kleine and husband Dave, of Roxboro and Allison Dacus and husband Charles, of Hurdle Mills; five grandchildren, Payton Morris, Grayson Murray, Chase Morris, Aidan Dacus and Mason Dacus; one great-grandchild, Karsyn Morris; his sister-in-law, Diane Morris, of Atlanta, Ga.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, 2022, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall by the Rev. Donald Daniel. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2021 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home and at other times at the home.

Honorary pallbearers will be firefighters with the Roxboro Fire Department.
