To the editor:
On behalf of the Roxboro Woman’s Club, we would like to extend a huge thank you to Person County and the surrounding communities for your support of our 2019 Red Stocking Revue – “Box Office Revue!”
The proceeds from this year’s show will go to fund college scholarships, community service projects, and donations to local groups and agencies who are working to improve our county and the lives of its citizens.
We appreciate our audiences who packed the Kirby Theater to support this bi-annual tradition. We would like to thank the staff of Roxboro Community School for allowing us to rehearse in their beautiful space. We would also like to thank the Person County Recreation Arts and Parks Department and the Kirby staff.
We are ever grateful for the generous financial support of over 140 local businesses who sponsored the show this year.
So much credit for the RSR’s success goes to the volunteer cast members, the musicians, the technicians and the backstage crew who shared their time, talent, and enthusiasm with us. Thank you for your commitment and dedication. Thank you also to their families and friends who we know missed them as Red Stocking monopolized their lives those three weeks.
Lastly, thank you to all the devoted husbands, families, and friends of our Woman’s Club members, including past members, who helped out and supported us this year.
Person County has once again demonstrated that there are no limits to what can be accomplished when you pool the dedication and work ethic of talented community members.
Editor’s note: The writer is co-chair of the Red Stocking Revue 2019. Jonsi Rimmer, who also served as co-chair for the event, signed this letter, along with Roxboro Woman’s Club president Christie Canter.
