Mr. William Thomas Parker, 89, of Durham, departed this life Wednesday, November 20, 2019 in Hock Family Pavilion in Durham. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Marion Parker; a son, Theodore Mack; his parents, Prince and Willie Mae Parker; and all of his siblings.
He is survived by his wife, Ozetta Parker of the home; three children, Jeffrey, Frederick and Luke; five grandchildren, Theodore, Sonja, Nicole, Aletha and Sh’kima; and a host of great-grandchildren and other additional relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 25, at 1 p.m. at Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Alfred Faulkner, Pastor of Elijah Grove Baptist Church, providing the eulogy and the Rev. James Monroe Lawson officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at 11 a.m., Tuesday at the Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 12 - 1 p.m. when his body will lie in state one hour prior to the service.
