William Bernice Reaves, 67, of 172 Acey Reaves Road, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 at his home. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late Acey Banks Reaves and Willoree Wrenn Reaves. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Eugene Reaves, Mike Reaves, and Juanita Mangum; sister-in-law, Betty Reaves.
Mr. Reaves was a member of Old Lea Bethel. He retired from Eaton after 35 years of employment. William loved anything outdoors like hunting, fishing, and gardening.
Surviving are his wife, Janice Briggs Reaves of the home; two sons, William Todd Reaves and wife, Shelia of Roxboro and Brandon Dale Reaves and wife, Jennifer of Timberlake; five brothers, Robert Reaves (Hannah) of Roxboro, Richard Reaves of Roxboro, Willie Reaves (Kathy) of Roxboro, Jerry Reaves (Robbie) of Roxboro; Bobby Reaves (Vonnie) of Alton, VA; two sisters, Carolyn Ellis (Phillip) of Rougemont and Dorothy Chambers (Kenneth) of Roxboro; two sister-in-laws, Nancy Reaves and Robin Reaves; one brother-in-law, Sonny Mangum; four grandchildren, Caleb Daniel Reaves, Tyler Aaron Reaves, Haley Faith Reaves and Adam Camden Reaves; a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorial service was held 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019 at the Brooks & White Chapel with the Rev. Richard Rorrer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
