We enter a special season

To the editor:

As we enter this season for giving, we find ourselves going to Black Friday specials looking for that perfect gift to give our love ones. Stores stay open all night; stores operate extended hours so that we can stand in line or perhaps camp out overnight waiting for them to open so we can purchase that perfect gift. We endure the hustle and bustle of the season to see that smile on our loved one’s face on Christmas day.

As that day fades into nothing more a than distant memory. Let’s remember that it was God who wrapped himself in human flesh born of a virgin who gave us his son Jesus Christ who came into the world to forgive our sins. Jesus is that perfect gift, a gift that we can receive that will stand the test of time – the perfect gift that will endure forever.

This Christmas, rather than focus on whether an event or a present was perfect or perhaps it fell short of our expectations we had hoped for, realize that the perfect gift God sent will never disappoint or fail to deliver what was promised: hope, unconditional love, forgiveness, and eternal restoration to God himself.

“God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16. Do you have that perfect gift this Christmas, Jesus the son of god and savior of the world?
