Virus balances the good, bad Thursday


The COVID-19 cases continue to come in for Person County, but there was also some good news.
One more new case pushed the county’s total count to 73 since the first case was announced.
The 17 new cases announced since Friday, June 5 marks the second highest seven-day total in the county since the first COVID-19 case was confirmed March 24, closely following behind the 19 cases announced between June 4 and 10.
The Person County Health Department also announced that there is one county resident hospitalized.
On the other side of the coin, four county residents were released from isolation Thursday, taking the total still being monitored at home to 17.
There has been one COVID-19-related death in Person County.
