Third person charged in armed robbery

Initially, two suspects were arrested and charged in the Brookstone neighborhood armed robbery but Roxboro police officers have arrested and charged a third person.

Roxboro police have arrested a third suspect in connection with an armed robbery reported in the Brookstone neighborhood March 21.

Matthew Bailey, 26, 315 Woodlawn Ave., was charged with two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony.

According to the Roxboro Police Department, investigators learned Bailey was a co-conspirator in that case which resulted in his arrest.

Bailey is being held in the Person County Jail under a $20,000 bond.

Two guns stolen

Thursday evening a Person County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a reported break-in near Frank Cash Road in Timberlake.

According to the report, the suspect kicked in the victim’s rear door and stole two guns, a .22 ACP revolver and a semi-automatic rifle.

This case is ongoing.

Home break-in

Sunday night a Person County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a reported home break-in near Mount Harmony Church Road in Rougemont.

According to the Person County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect kicked in the door and stole a $15 watch and some other cosmetic jewelry.

This case remains under investigation.

Book bag missing from vehicle

According to the Roxboro Police Department, a man reported his book bag missing from his vehicle near North Main Street.

The bag contained a pair of Air Pods, books and financial documents.

This case is closed and pending leads to investigate.
