  • The Kirby Theater, will host Mike Wiley’s “One Noble Journey” at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 24. Tickets are available through the Kirby Theater Box Office, 336-597-1709.
  • The Person County Habitat for Humanity Yard Sale, held at 110 Carver Drive, Roxboro, will now be open every Wednesday and Saturday, from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. The January special will feature 50 percent off all furniture, and most exercise equipment at $20. Donated items are accepted.
  • City of Roxboro Sanitation Department, will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20 for Martin Luther King Day. Monday’s route will be collected on Tuesday, Jan. 21, along with the regular Tuesday garbage routes.   • The Oxford Granville Martin Luther King Celebration Committee, will sponsor a night of dialogue, tribute and celebration at 5 p.m., Jan. 20 at Northern Granville Middle School, 3144 Webb School Road, Oxford. Admission is free.

  • The Christian Help Center Woodchucks, a group of citizens who help keep the Center stocked with firewood for keeping those in need warm during winter, gather to cut, split, and stack wood every Wednesday from 8-11:30 a.m., in the lower parking lot behind Long Memorial United Methodist Church. Anyone is welcome to help. When inclement weather threatens, call the center at 336-599-6070, for schedule information.   • AA Champions Group, meets at New Brook United Methodist Church, 267 Old Durham Road, at noon Tuesdays and Fridays; at 8 p.m. Wednesday; and at 1 p.m. Saturdays.
