The Roxboro Area Chamber of Commerce, will host a Good Morning Coffee Hour event at 8 a.m., May 1 at the Golden Corral. Sponsored by Safe Haven of Person County, the program will observe Mental Health Awareness Month. South Elementary School, will host a fish fry and carnival from 11a.m. - 2 p.m., April 27 at the school, 1333 Hurdle Mills Road, Roxboro. Fish plates will be sold for $7; fish sandwiches will be available for $3; and drinks can be purchased for $1. The Person County Senior Center, is hosting a trip to Goldsboro to see the Wings over Wayne air show, featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro. Departing from the parking lot at Just Save Foods at 7:30 a.m., April 27, the trip costs $32 per person. The group will return at about 9 p.m. The trip includes a dinner stop at McCall’s BBQ & Seafood in Goldsboro. The cost of dinner is not included in the trip cost. Freedom House Recovery Center, will host a Town Hall meeting from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. April 23 at Roxoro City Hall. Speakers include Trey Sutton, CEO of Cardinal Innovations; Sen.
