The two local high school baseball team will return to action after a week off of play — and will be busy.

The Roxboro Community School baseball team will host Bunn Monday night at Optimist Park. The junior league game is set for 5 p.m., with the seniors scheduled to play at 7:15 p.m. Bunn is coming off a 20-7 spring season that included winning a share of the 1A/2A Northern Carolina Conference. The Wildcats advanced to the 2A East regional semifinals before falling to traditional power Randleman.

RCS will be off Tuesday before wrapping up the North Central Summer League regular season Thursday at Granville Central. The Panthers downed RCS 2-1 earlier in the summer league season and are fresh off a 15-9 spring campaign that included a third-round appearance in the 1A state playoffs.

The tournament is scheduled for July 22-26 with all games to be played at Optimist Park.

The Person summer league baseball team will face Voyager Academy on back-to-back nights beginning Tuesday. The junior league game is scheduled for 4 p.m., with the seniors getting going at 6 p.m.

Wednesday’s game will be played at Southern Durham High School and are set for 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. starts.

Voyager is coming off a 13-9 spring season and finished third in the North Central Athletic Conference.
