Store break-in reported

Saturday night a Person County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a break-in at Mayo Convenience Store, 5090 Virgilina Road.

Upon arrival, the deputy was informed that someone had broken in the store through the rear of the building.

Deputies reported 47 boxes of Newport cigarettes and four or five boxes of Dutch Cigarillos were stolen, according.

The case remains under investigation.

Victim attacked in home

Saturday morning a Person County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to Todd Road in reference to a larceny.

According to the report, the thief broke into the home, hit the victim and stole cell phones and a 2018 Nissan Rogue.

This case remains under investigation.

Shattered store-front leads to investigation

According to the Roxboro Police Department, Saturday morning officers responded to Cricket Wireless, 910 N. Madison Blvd., Suite A, in reference to a possible break-in.

Upon arrival, officers say they discovered the front glass door to the business had been shattered. At the time of the report, no merchandise appeared to be taken.

This incident is under investigation.
