Sheriff’s deputies search for missing teens

Person County sheriff’s deputies are searching for two juveniles who were reported missing Monday. The two cases are unrelated.

Destiny Ladd, 17, was reported missing by her father at 11:37 a.m. Monday. She was last seen or heard from July 23 by an investigator on the phone.

Ladd is described as a white female, 5’5” tall and weighing around 170 pounds. Ladd is reported to not have a method of travel except for friends and family.

Mary Gentry, 15, was reported missing at 1 p.m. Monday. Gentry was last seen Aug. 4, but has been staying with her grandparents. She was last seen leaving on foot in an unknown direction with an unknown clothing description.

Gentry is described as a white female, 5’5” tall, weighing around 115 pounds with dark brown hair and blue eyes.

Person County Sheriff’s Office Captain of Investigations Joe Weaver said Tuesday that both teens are still missing and are being actively sought by deputies.
