Search is on for runaway teen

Law enforcement officers in two counties are searching for a missing Person County teenager who cut off an ankle bracelet alarm, stole $1,000 from her adopted parents and ran away on July 16.

Casey Wicker, 16, is described as a white female, 5'8" tall, weighing 114 lbs. Her hair was dyed burgundy. Her father, Steve Wicker, said she was wearing blue jeans and. most likely a hoodie when she left home. She was also wearing a pair of white Nike Jordans with black soles. She frequents locations in Person and Alamance counties.

"She knew the exact time to leave, because my wife and I still both work, so I might be at work and my wife be sleeping and she would know she could get out and that it might be five, six, 10 hours before anyone would realize she was gone," Wicker said.

According to her father, Wicker has run away about five times in the last two years. He said she recently tested positive for drug use.

"We're just concerned about what might happen to her. My fear is someone's going to grab hold of her and do something. She doesn't understand that it's a bad world out there," Steve Wicker said.

After the last runaway attempt in April, Wicker entered classes offered through the Christian Help Center and Roots & Wings, her father said. She attended those sessions for about five weeks before running away again.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Person County Sheriff's Office at 336-597-0500 or the Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.
