Saundra Tavis Moore, 78, of 90 Griesch Road, Roxboro, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 surrounded by her family. Born in Wyandotte, Kansas, she was the daughter of the late Theodore Tavis and Margaret Elizabeth Graves Tavis. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, George F. Moore; two sons: George Paul Yankovich and Brian Yankovich; stepdaughter, Gwen Moore Carver; five siblings: Melvin Tavis, Ted Tavis, Charles Tavis, Tom Tavis and Beverly Rollins.
Mrs. Moore worked for Walmart and Dollar General in Roxboro for many years. She loved crocheting and crafting. Mrs. Moore enjoyed working in the yard and tending to her plants.
Surviving are her children: Tamie Barnett of Gastonia, Lisa Poole, Angela Bumpass (Erwin), and Brittany Moore, all of Roxboro; her brother, Robert “Bob” Tavis (Sharon) of Leavenworth, Kansas; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 5, 2021 at the home (90 Griesch Road, Roxboro, NC 27574) with the Pastor Bobby Gilley officiating.
