The third annual RoxTrot 5K race will be held at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 4, beginning and ending at the Huck Sansbury picnic shelter. There will be a 5K run, and a 5K walk. There will also be a free Toddler Waddle and half mile race for children beginning at 8:45 a.m.
Entry fees for the 5K Run or Walk are $20 on or before April 26; After that date, registrations costs rise to $25.
Registration on or before April 30 guarantees the participant a T-shirt. Registration the day of the race will begin at 7:30 am at the Sansbury picnic shelter.
Awards will be presented in the 5K Run and 5K Walk for top three overall finishers and the top three finishers in each age division. There will be no duplicate awards.
Maps of the race course are available at the Recreation Department.
The race benefits the Friends of the Parks, whose mission is to promote and broaden recreational opportunities in the Person County Park System and area lakes. This is a family-friendly event. Guests can have their picture taken with the lovable Roxy Raccoon mascot.
