Person High School (PHS) held auditions this week for its Variety Show Benefit Concert that will raise money for the music department. The show will take place Feb. 21 at the Kirby Theater.
“We are hosting the concert to raise funds for our program because we are traveling a lot this season,” Brittany Booth, a music teacher at PHS said.
The music program is planning to travel to Atlanta to compete at the All-State level. All the money that will be made from the concert will go to funding for the music program.
Booth adds, “We need money for travels, uniforms, as well as new music.”
“I am auditioning to have fun but to also share a piece of music that connects with me and I know will connect with someone else,” junior Stella Fuller said.
The show will feature students exhibiting various talents from dancing, to poetry.
“This is to celebrate the gift and diversity of the students at this high school as well as involve the community,” Booth said.
