In the wake of the current global outbreak of COVID-19, the Person County Education Foundation finds itself searching for new ways to conduct some of its most important business. PCEF executive director Amanda Morrow said scholarship application reviews continue and organizational leaders continue to monitor news about the outbreak and its effect on PCEF programming.
Scholarship applications and review
The PCEF scholarship award cycle is going well, although “social distancing” has created some unique challenges. PCEF plans to resolve these challenges as soon as it can.
Students who have applied, can be assured that their application has, and will continue to, receive full consideration by PCEF, irrespective of these pandemic-related roadblocks. Students are advised to continue to check email for updates.
The 2020 annual giving campaign
The 2020 giving campaign is going well and will end on March 31. Anyone interested in contributing, doing so by the end of March will significantly assist PCEF to budget and plan for requests received from the teachers and schools for 2020-2021 school year. The PCEF Board believes that because of happenings these days, the requests will be dramatically increased over last year. Donors may give online or view and download the 2020 Giving Campaign Letter and Contribution Form.
PCEF upcoming events
PCEF remains available via phone and email. The organization will continuously re-evaluate based on the current factors at play, and will update the public as to future meeting and engagements as time progresses. Even if in-person collaboration isn’t possible, PCEF and the public can continue to work together for Person County educators, students and their families.
