Percy Womack Jr.


Mr. Percy Womack Jr., 91, of Roxboro, departed this life Wednesday, April 30, 2020 in his residence. He was a native of Person County and a member of Zion Level Baptist Church in Semora.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Percy Sr. and Pearl Womack; five sisters, Gladys Black, Novella McGhee, Dorothy Jeffers, Annie Conally and Lily Williams; and four brothers in infancy.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Womack of the home; six children, Earl J. Womack (Debbie) of Rocky Mount, Leon Womack (Kathy) of Wilmington, the Rev. Ronnie M. Womack (Darlina) of Roxboro, Angela W. Livingston (Vincent) of Colfax, Beverly W. Rouser (Kerry) of Raleigh and Percy Womack III (Jessica) of Greensboro; five sisters, Estella Myers, Pearl Irvin, Gracie Farmer (James) and Lola Garland (Richard), all of Roxboro, Carolyn Brandon of Alton, Va.; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other additional relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held Monday, May 4, 2020 at 1 p.m. at Zion Level Baptist Church, 1780 Zion Level Church Road, Semora, where the Rev. Ronnie Womack officiated and the Rev. Willie O. Glenn, former pastor, provided the eulogy. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
Visitation with a walk-through only was also Monday at the church from 12 - 1 p.m. when his body lay in state for one hour prior to the service. Attendance at the funeral was limited to 50 individuals in compliance with the Executive Order from the Office of the Governor and attendees were pre-determined by the family.
At other times, the family received a limited number of friends at the home, 84 GLA Road, Roxboro.
The family is also planning an additional service of remembrance which will take place at a future time to be announced.
Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Directors were in charge of the service of comfort for Mr. Percy Womack Jr.
