PCC will hold logistics training

Piedmont Community College will offer Logistics and Forklift training April 2-May 13. This class will meet from 9 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Mondays - Thursdays at PCC’s Workforce Training Center located at 303 S. Morgan St., Roxboro.

This training leads to a national credential through the Manufacturing Skill Standards Council.

Walmart Grocery Distribution Center and MSSC have collaborated to employ applicants who have secured a foundational-level MSSC Certified Logistics Associate certification or mid-level technical MSSC Certified Logistics Technician certification.

This certification provides mid-level practical knowledge needed to understand the world of supply chain logistics and related core proficiencies including:

• Product receiving

• Product storage

• Order processing

• Packaging and shipment

• Inventory control

• Safe handling of hazardous materials

• Evaluation of transportation modes, customs, and dispatch an tracking operations

These certificates meet the national skills demand which prepares students for frontline material handling work in factories, warehouses, distribution centers and transporters.

Financial assistance is available to qualified unemployed, underemployed, and economically distressed individuals.
