Oxford woman violates protective order

On Tuesday night Roxboro police responded to reports of a domestic dispute at 1819 North Main St.

According to officers, the victim and Ka-Leigh Gunter, 18, 6709 Old Roxboro Road, Oxford were having a verbal argument.

Officers discovered a strong odor of alcohol coming from Gunter’s breath and the victim had a domestic violence protection order against her.

The court had ordered Gunter to not have contact with the victim.

Officers arrested Gunter for violating the domestic violence protective order and for consumption of alcohol under 21 years of age.

Gunter is being held in the Person County jail under no bond due to the domestic violence order violation.

Cash and electronics stolen from vehicle

A Person County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a report of a motor vehicle break-in reported Thursday morning at 36 Dylan St. Apt D.

The victims reported around 2:30 a.m. they heard a loud noise coming from outside but when they looked they didn’t see anyone.

Later that morning, one of the victims noticed several items were taken including cash, a cell phone, an iPad, an iPod and the GPS.

This case remains under investigation.

Domestic assault

A Person County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched Wednesday night to Person Memorial Hospital in response to an assault that already occurred at 9410 Leasburg Road.

The victim had a deep laceration over her left eye along with multiple scratches, according to the report.

Dean Hilton, 22, 9410 Leasburg Road, allegedly hit the victim with a glass bottle, punched her and threatened her.

Hilton was charged with one count of kidnapping and one count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

He is being held in the Person County Jail without bond.

Suspect causes damage to property.

Tuesday afternoon a Person County Sheriff’s sergeant responded to 150 Brook Hollow Road, in reference to property damage.

There was damage throughout the residence and property including the front door frame, outdoor chair, camper and damage to the yard, according to the report.

The victim also reported that the suspect had been evicted from the property and had taken multiple items.

This case remains under investigation.

Marijuana found
in hotel room

Monday night Roxboro police officers were conducting a foot patrol at the Timberland Motel when they allegedly smelled the odor of marijuana coming from a hotel room.

After talking with the occupants of the suspected room, India Holloway, 23, 499 Blalock Dairy Road, and Shidee Talley, 34, 111 Person Court, Apt B, the officers seized approximately six grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Talley and Holloway were issued citations for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
