PROSPECT HILL — Norman Herbert Briggs, 80, of 2337 Egypt Rd., Prospect Hill, died Saturday, July 3, 2021. Born in Person County, Mr. Briggs was the son of the late Johnnie Thomas and Bertha Mae Bowes Briggs. Mr. Briggs was a retired truck driver and a member of Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Bushy Fork Hunting Club. Mr. Briggs is preceded in death by his brother, Ben Bradley Briggs and his sister, Loretta B. Jones.
Mr. Briggs is survived by his wife, Peggy P. Briggs; three children, Felicia Briggs, Triscica B. White and Jonathan Briggs and wife Makayla, all of Timberlake; one step-son, Lee Meadows, of Danville, Va.; two brothers, John Thomas Briggs, Jr., and wife Pearl and Bernice Raymond Briggs, all of Burlington; two sisters, Cleo B. Slaughter and husband Ted, of Elon and Annette B. Pruitt and husband Curtis, of Yanceyville; a sister-in-law, Odell Briggs, of Roxboro; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services were be held 4 p.m. Saturday at Old Lea Bethel Baptist Church by the Rev. Richard Rorrer and the Rev. Alan Bottoms. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family received friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home.
Honorary pallbearers will be his nephews.
