Mrs. Maude Walker Jeffers, 99, of 2651 Dirgie Mine Road, Roxboro, departed this life Monday, August 12, 2019 in Person Memorial Hospital in Roxboro. She was born in Granville County, made her home in Person County and was a member of Lawson Chapel Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Thomas Jeffers and 11 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by three children, Velma Bullock (Stafford) of Raleigh, Jean Mebane of Largo, Md. and William Jeffers (Dora) of Roxboro; one sister, Katie Brooks of Baltimore, Md; four grandchildren, Derrick Mebane of Upper Marlboro, Md., Stephanie Allen of Raleigh, Karma Tockman of Greensboro, and Candace Marshall (Keith) of Wake Forest; four great-grandchildren: Ayanna Allen of Raleigh, Simone Tockman of Greensboro, Averi Marshall and Austin Marshall, both of Wake Forest; and a host of nieces, nephews, other additional relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 17 at Lawson Chapel Baptist Church, 200 Lawson Chapel Church Road with the Rev. Dr. Langston D. Logan, Sr., pastor, officiating and providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Friday at the funeral home from 1 - 6 p.m. with the family present during the last hour from 5 - 6 p.m.
At other times, the family will receive friends at her home.
