Local groups take active shooter training


On Wednesday an active shooter awareness program was held at Piedmont Community College Room to enhance preparedness in the community.

Information was provided by local law enforcement officers to local educators, church leaders, healthcare facilities, local government offices, businesses, local housing operators and staff of Safe Haven and the community college to help them prepare for and respond to an incident.

The training was presented by Person County Sheriff’s Dept. and Person County EMS. The event was sponsored by North Main IGA, Ford Brothers Auto, Canterbury Assisting Living, G P Yancey Enterprise & CPN-NC. Breakfast was provided.
