To the editor:
The Person County Public Library staff would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Friends of the Person County Public Library. The Friends are a dedicated group of advocates for the library and contribute their time and expertise to significantly enhance our services.
Recently the Friends of the Library held their spring book sale. The three-day event generated revenue to be used toward expanding the library’s collections, enhancing library services to the community and for programming. Thank you to all of the Friends members and the volunteers who helped make the sale successful. Also, a big thank you goes to the local businesses that posted fliers publicizing the event.
Our Friends group began in 1988 and over the course of the past 30 years has provided incredible support to the library. To highlight a few of their accomplishments, they have purchased library materials, implemented a seed library, and sponsored children and adult programs, including next month’s Community Read with holocaust speaker, Bonnie Hauser.
The library is a source of pride for our community, and our Friends group is a source of pride as well. We invite you to join this outstanding group. If you are interested, stop by the library for more information or attend their next their board meeting at 5:15 p.m., Tuesday, May 21st , in the library gallery.
