Library events will beat the heat


The Person County Public Library has cool programs in July to help your family beat the heat. The library will host two high-energy performers on Friday mornings at 10 a.m., beginning with Fred Motley on July 12, telling “Jack Tales.” Get your tail waggin’ into Space with the movie “Space Buddies” July 10 at 2 p.m. On Monday July 15 at 4 p.m. celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. This livestream is provided by the American Museum of Natural History and STAR Library Network to bring NASA @ your Library. Experience “One Small Step: The Real-Life Journey into Outer Space,” July 19 with Bright Star Touring Theatre at 10 a.m.

Teens ages 13 and up, are invited to attend a teen lock-in from 5-7 p.m. Friday July 26. Network with friends in the library after hours. Snacks, games and prizes will be provided by Teen Advisory Board.

If you have not started your summer reading, register your child or teen online at , then visit the library for start-up materials. Financial support from the Roxboro Kiwanis Club and the Friends of the Person County Public Library make these events possible. The Library is located at 319 S. Main St. Roxboro.
