Last week was highest in county COVID-19 growth

With 47 new COVID-19 cases, last week saw the largest growth in new cases since the disease arrived in Person County.

Those new cases took the county's total caseload since March 24 to 536.

With the new cases, the county has 80 people currently being monitored at home – a tie for the highest that metric has been. Three people are currently hospitalized, taking the total active cases to 83.

Of the new cases, 32 people were showing symptoms.

Another death in the past week took the county's total to 10.

There were 795 COVID-19 tests administered to Personians in the past week at sites both in and outside of Person County. The percentage of test returning positive rose to 4.48 percent in the past week.
