Katie Lee Currin Kimbrough, 87, of Roxboro, died Saturday, January 16, 2021 at her home. Born in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Joe Badgett Currin, Sr. and Agnes Judd Currin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Marshall Kimbrough, Sr. and her son, Frank Marshall Kimbrough, Jr. and her brother, Dr. Joe Badgett Currin, Jr.
Mrs. Kimbrough was a very active member of Roxboro Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and played the piano and organ for numerous years. Mrs. Kimbrough graduated from Meredith College with a Bachelor’s Degree in music and later taught music and various other courses at Person High School. She was a member of the Roxboro Christian Women’s Club.
Mrs. Kimbrough is survived by four sons: Conrad Lewis Kimbrough III (Donna), Mark Douthit Kimbrough (Mary), Edwin Judd Kimbrough (Jennifer), and David Marmaduke Kimbrough (Donna Ray); daughter-in-law, Maryanne de Prophetis; six grandchildren: Wyatt Thomas Kimbrough, Amy Grace Kimbrough, Elizabeth Lynn Kimbrough, Allyson Kate Kimbrough, Jackson Russell Kimbrough, Melissa Cunningham (Joshua) and CW02 Sarah Trickler (John); one great-grandson, Lane Joseph Cunningham.
Due to COVID-19 the family regrets there will be no family visitation. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 9AM-5PM Friday, January 22, 2021 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home.
A private funeral service will be held.
