SEMORA — Johnnie Wayne Yarborough, 52, of Semora, died Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at his home. Born in Person County, he was the son of the late Wayne Thomas Yarborough and Magnolia “Maggie” Taylor Long, who survives. In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Donnie Darrell Long.
Johnnie was the project manager for ITS. He loved his career and was a lineman and in the electrical industry for over 35 years. Johnnie also loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Angela Yarborough of the home; three children: Stephen Yarborough (Kayla), Sierra Pittman ( Dean Eakes) and Taylor Yarborough (Zack Fortner); two special people he considered as sons: Darrell Bowes (Kelly Hudson) and Austin Bowes (Joni Poole); three brothers: Robbie Long (Marianna), Ronnie Yarborough and Wayne Yarborough; three sisters: April Williams (William Crowder), Angela Fuller (Michael) and Tricia Pergerson (Chris); nine grandchildren: Olivia Yarborough, Kaiden Williams, Grant Bowes, Carsyn Eakes, Braxton Bowes, Adam Yarborough, Peyton Yarborough, Presley Yarborough and Cami Lewis.
Visitation will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2021 at the Theresa Baptist Church and other times at the home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021 at the Theresa Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chad Vaughn, Brandon Wilborn, Billy Shotwell, Luke Brandon, Shane Perkins, Tyler Dunevant, Austin Bowes and Darrell Bowes. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Bowes, Keith Bowes, Keith Duncan, Ronnie Montugue, Chris Nelson and Chester Nelson.
