Mrs. Jacqueline Yvette Jones, 50, of 579 Faulkner-Long Road, Roxboro, departed this life Saturday, February 2, 2019 in her residence. She was a native of Person County and a member of Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Alfred Brooks and one brother, Emmanuel Brooks, Sr.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Kenneth Jones of the home; two children: Danielle Perkins and Luther Perkins, also of the home; her mother, Mary Newman of the home; two grandchildren, Destiny Perkins of the home and Zahina Ruffin of Richmond, Va.; one sister, Mildred Poole of Semora; four brothers: the Rev. Chango Brooks of Roxboro, Linwood Brooks, also of Semora, Dr. Mengie Parker of Indiana and Antonio Harrison, also of Roxboro; two aunts: the Honorable Patty Harrison of Semora and Dossie Harrison of Roxboro; two uncles: Emmanuel Harrison (Viola) and John Harrison, both of Semora; and a host of nieces, nephews, other additional relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1111 Oak Grove Mt. Zion Road, Roxboro with the Rev. Clyde A. Glass, pastor, providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will also be Thursday at the church from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. when her body will lie in state.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home.
