Health Department reports 29 new cases, 49 active

The Person County Health Department announced 29 new cases of COVID-19 in the county pushing the total to 234 since March 24.

Of that total, 162 or 69 percent, have reported showing COVID-19 symptoms. In the past week, there were seven more individuals who tested positive and showed symptoms.

There are currently 49 active cases – 48 individuals are being monitored at home and there is one person hospitalized.

Three people were released from home isolation in the past week. There have been 183 individuals who have been released from isolation under Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

There have been 6,145 COVID-19 tests on county residents since March 1– 453 in the past week.

For the fourth week in a row, the percentage of tests returning positive has climbed and is now 3.8 percent.

25-49: 90 (+8)

50-64: 61 (+8)

65+: 32 (+6)
