Graham directs ROSS program through RHA

Annie Goodman Graham is the ROSS Coordinator with the Roxboro Housing Authority, where she works at Harris Gardens.

Nearly five decades ago, she was one of the first black contestants to enter the Roxoro Beauty Pageant, where she finished as the third runner-up.

During the years in between Graham completed her education, earning degrees from N.C. A&T University and Saginaw State University in Saginaw, Mich.

Following completion of her degree at Saginaw State, Graham was named Director of the Human Development Committee in Saginaw.

“I am committed to helping people improve their quality of life,” Graham said. “People want to help themselves. It makes them feel good.”

Graham worked with the director of Saginaw County’s Child Development Center, Inc. to operate the county’s Head Start program. In that role, she supervised 29 full-time employees and more than 200 volunteers. Prior to working with the Head Start program, Graham was director of Saginaw Neighborhoods, Inc., an agency that received federal funding to organize citizen action groups.
