Golvia Ellen Bowes Solomon Breeze


HURDLE MILLS – Golvia Ellen Bowes Solomon Breeze, 91, of 9900 Hurdle Mills Road, Hurdle Mills, died Saturday, September 14, 2019. Born in Person County, Mrs. Breeze was the daughter of the late Clarence King and Addie Mae Vicks Bowes.

She was wife of 40 years to the late Emory Bernard “Bunny” Solomon and 12 years to the late Waddell Breeze. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ernest, Milo and Weldon Bowes and her sister, Thelma Clayton.

Mrs. Breeze retired from Collins & Aikman after 44 years. She was the oldest attending member of Clement Baptist Church where she was a member of the Clement Quilters.

Mrs. Breeze is survived by her children, Anthony Bernard “Andy” Solomon and wife Lila and Gail S. Foushee and husband Ray, all of Hurdle Mills; three step-daughters, Jane Morris and husband Danny, of Hurdle Mills, Hope Breeze, of Durham and Dawn Martin and husband Billy, of Hurdle Mills; four brothers, Mac Bowes of Greensboro, Coy Bowes, Wayne Bowes and F.T. Bowes, all of Roxboro; one sister, Jean Bowes Carver, of Roxboro; five grandchildren, Jason Foushee and wife Jennifer, Anna F. Welch and husband Craig, Brandon Solomon, Nicholas Solomon and Liana Solomon; five great-grandchildren, Tanner Foushee, Rayleigh Foushee, Kensie Welch, Lillyan Solomon and Loriana Martin.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Sept. 16, at Clement Baptist Church by the Rev. Glen Warren and the Rev. Herbert Brown. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30-8 pm. Sunday, at the Clement Baptist Church Fellowship Hall and at other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Jason Foushee, Brandon Solomon, Nicholas Solomon, Craig Welch, Steve Solomon, Neal Bowes, David Cunnup and Chad Horner. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Clement Quilters: Sandra Allen, Dot Gault, Sarah Hurdle, Deborah Jo Whitfield, Hazel Wrenn and Mary Wagner.
