Mr. George Edward Williams, 80, of 4676 Cunningham Road, Semora,, departed this life Friday, March 8, 2019 in his residence. He was a native of Person County and a member of Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
He is survived by five children: Dyvonne Williams of the home, Gary Williams (Tawana) of Semora, Michael Williams (Victoria) of Charlotte and Angela Smith (Marcus) of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters: Brinder Williams and Hilda Pass (Walter), both of Roxboro; one brother, William “Jack” Williams (Brenda), also of Roxboro; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of other additional relatives and friends.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, March 13 at 1 p.m. at Old Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1111 Oak Grove Mt. Zion Baptist Church where Pastor Michelle Fitz presided and the Rev. Clyde A. Glass, pastor, provided the eulogy. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was Tuesday at the funeral home from 1 - 6 p.m. with the family present during the last hour from 5 - 6 p.m.
At other times, the family received friends at the home. The body lay in state in the church one hour prior to the service.
Cunningham and Nelson Funeral Directors were in charge of the service of comfort for Mr. George Edward Williams.
