A big night of racing action took place Saturday at Orange County Speedway.
The night began with the Winstead Farms Pure Stock where Greg Autry held off a charging Thomas Penny to win.
Penny took second and Troy Sandefur would finish third.
The next race was the Late Model. Taylor Gray was the fastest qualifier but the six fastest cars had a redraw for their starting positions in the first of two Twin 35 lap events
Chuck Lawson drew the number one starting position but after some bumping and rubbing, Gray claimed the win with Barry Beggarly Jr. taking second and Daryl Carver finishing third.
Next taking the track was The Walker Auctions Vintage Sportsman with 10 cars taking the green flag.
Hickory’s Eddie Gilbert would finish first with Martinsville’s Corey Agee taking second and Durham’s Chris Mincey coming home third.
The fourth race of the night was the Choice Automotive Chargers. Reigning Champion Brent Evans Jr. took his first win of 2019 after an exciting battle with Jason Warsing. Warsing would settle for second with Richard Hayden taking third.
The Smokey Dave’s BBQ Mod 4 would be next and Kyle Walker would take the win in this 20-lap feature. Jon Fish would finish second and Rusty Denny coming home third.
After that it was time for The Late Model to have their second 35 lap event
The top six from the first Late Model race of the night would draw for their starting positions. Lawson drew the number one and then held off Gray to take the win. Daryl Carver would again finish third, with Barry Beggarly Jr. and Tracy Chambers rounding out the top five
The final race of the night was The Southern Outlaw U Car League. Thomas Penny would take the win with Chad Williams finishing second and Ronnie Riggs coming home third.
The next race on the schedule at Orange County Speedway is set for Saturday, Aug. 24 when the CARS Tour returns with their Late Model Stock and Super Late Models in action.
