Edward T. “E.T.” Coley, of the Bronx, N.Y., was born on March 13, 1938 and raised in Roxboro.
He departed this life on May 10, 2019 in his home.
Edward was proud soldier with the United States Army from Nov. 2, 1960 and was honorably discharged on Nov. 2, 1962.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Johnson Coley, grandmother Maggie Noell Coley, his mother, Mary Belle Coley Ragner; two sisters, Colleen Cabezas and Shirley Brown; and one brother, Walter Ragner Jr.
Bro. Coley was a very active and faithful member of Bright Temple A.M.E. Church. He was a blessing spiritually, physically and financially. Bro. Coley loved his church and he loved his pastor. His church and his pastor truly loved him.
He leaves to celebrate his life and legacy of faith three brothers, Ronnie T. Coley of Burlington, Alexander Trotter of Rochester, N.Y. and Paul Trotter of New Carrollton, Md. ; two sisters, Gloria A. Coley and Mary Ragner Clay ( Michael) both of Burlington; his uncle, Robert Trotter (Shirley) of Roxboro; two aunts, Iris T. Graves of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Eulalia T. Powell of Charleston, S.C., and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and most certainly his beloved Bright Temple A.M.E. Church family.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 18 at Bright Temple A.M.E. Church in the Bronx, N.Y. with the Rev. Karen D. Horry officiating.
