The Eaton Corp. Roxboro plant recognizes its employees and families, with a Family Safety Day. The activities included fun games, rock wall climbing, trampolines, train rides, food and plant tours along with some outstanding safety educational events from the local community.
Person’s Memorial Hospital, Roxboro Fire Department, Roxboro Police Department and many more provided activities to help educate children and families on how to be safe.
Scott Bailey, Eaton’s plant manager, said “the event was organized by an employee led safety council. It was a very successful event. I am proud to be part of this team. Our markets are very competitive and our employees are what makes a difference by providing a significant competitive advantage for this plant.”
While the event was centered around safety education, there were hundreds of children laughing, playing and enjoying the time with their parents, grandparents and co-workers.
Dustin LaClair, Environmental Health and Safety manager at the plant, singled out one group for their effort.
“The fire department did a great job with educating children on how to use a fire extinguisher and also how to evacuate your home if you smell smoke. If we can connect with families and possibly impact even one person’s life, then the event was successful.”
