GREENSBORO – Mr. Douglas Eddie Kilgore, 47, of Greensboro, departed this life Wednesday, June 5, 2019 in Guilford County. He was born in Washington, D.C. but made his home in North Carolina. He was a counselor in Forsyth County Schools.
He is preceded in death by an uncle, Calvin M. Lester.
He is survived by his mother, Willoree Lester Kilgore-Lunsford (Robert) of Roxboro and father, Alvin Kilgore of Temple Hills, Md.; two brothers, Robert Kilgore of Greensboro and Robert Lunsford, Jr. (Kimberly) of Roxboro; two sisters: Rhonda L. Lester (Chester) of Grayson, Ga. and Oveida Lunsford, of Roxboro; paternal grandmother, Eddie Mae Boyd of Upper Marlboro. Md.; four aunts: Nannie Lester Tyree of Potomac, Md., Shelia L. McGhee (Martin) of Roxboro, Deborah L. Redmond (Rev. Maurice) of Charlotte, and Katherine Mahmood of Chesterfield, Va.; four uncles: Sherman Lester (Juanita) of Charlotte, Rev. Richard Lester (Rev. Thelma) of Mebane, Robert Lester of Roxboro and Chester Lester (Rhonda) of Grayson, Ga.; and a host of other additional relatives and friends.
The funeral service will be held at 12 p.m., Tuesday, June 11, at Elijah Grove Baptist Church, 11469 Virgilina Road, Roxboro, with the Rev. Dr. Alfred Faulkner, pastor, providing the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at the church from 11:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 905 Nelson Loop Road, Roxboro.
