Dorothy G. Dickerson, 90, of Virgilina Road, Roxboro, went to her heavenly home on Monday, Jan. 18, 2021. Born in Person County, she was the daughter of the late Howard Carlton Gentry and Elizabeth Verna Melton Gentry. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bert T. Dickerson; two brothers: Carlton Stephen Gentry and Roy Allen Gentry; one sister, Shirley Gentry Knott.
She is survived by her three sons: Glenn T. Dickerson and wife, Debbie, Douglas E. Dickerson and wife, Darlene and Dan T. Dickerson and wife, Bonnie; one sister, Elsie Gentry Elliott; seven grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Mrs. Dickerson was a member of Providence Baptist Church. She loved her family, her God, and her church. Her family loved her very much. Her smile warmed the heart of everyone she ever met. She worked at Collins & Aikman for over 30 years.
Due to COVID-19, no home visitation is planned. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 12-5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 at the Providence Baptist Church with the Rev. Dennis McDonald and the Rev. Victor Blackwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service (1-2 p.m.).
