A Roxboro man is accused of kidnapping and assaulting a woman Tuesday evening at 770 Whitt Town Road.
Cody Palmer, 28, 114 Country Club Road was charged with one count of aggravated assault.
According to the Person County Sheriff’s Office, the victim reported the incident Wednesday evening.
She accused Palmer of assaulting her, stalking her and keeping her against her will.
Palmer is being held in the Person County Jail under a $50,000 bond.
Wednesday night Roxboro police officers responded to reports of a domestic assault at 429 S. Lamar St.
The victim reported that Irwin Mason, 53, 505 S. Lamar St., Roxboro, struck her in the head with a hammer.
The victim suffered minor injuries, according to the Roxboro Police Department.
Mason was arrested for one count of assault with a deadly weapon.
He was held in the Person County Jail under a domestic violence hold.
Deputies searching for stolen vehicle
On Wednesday morning the Person County Sheriff’s Office received a report about a larceny of a motor vehicle and an assault at 215 Meadow Lane.
According to the report, the suspect stole a silver car Tuesday afternoon.
Before he was able to get away, the suspect fought the victim for her car keys.
They fought from the bedroom to the front door.
Eventually, the suspect was able to overpower the victim and take the vehicle.
This case is under investigation.
Person County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a report of a break-in that happened Thursday morning at 1390 Chub Lake Road.
The victim reported when he returned home, he discovered his television, a stereo with two speakers and his white cat with gray spots had been stolen.
He told deputies his door was left unlocked because he had lost the key.
This case remains under investigation.
Traffic stop leads to multiple arrests
Tuesday night Roxboro police officers charged three people with drug offenses during a traffic stop at 799 North Main St.
According to reports, Stacey Stanfield, 18, 423 Monroe St., Roxboro and two minors were in the vehicle when officers pulled the vehicle over for making an illegal turn at a checkpoint.
During the traffic stop, officers searched the car and seized alcohol, cocaine, heroin and controlled substances.
Stanfield was charged with possession of spirituous liquor underage, felony possession of counterfeit controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance inside a confined facility.
She is being held in the Person County Sheriff’s Office under a $2,000 bond.
The other two were cited as juveniles.
