In a Thursday afternoon tweet, the Person County Health Department reported an additional case of COVID-19 in Person County.
The current locally-reported total is 18.
Of that total, nine have been released from Health Department isolation.
Eight people are being monitored in their homes.
One person is currently hospitalized.
However, that total differs from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services' reported count in Person County at 19.
In an email, Health Director Janet Clayton said the Health Department is aware of the difference in numbers and their reported number is based on the number of confirmed positive COVID-19 test results that have been received.
Editors note: As of Friday morning, the NCDHHS case count for Person County was reduced to 18.
