County manager receives pay increase
Person County Manager Heidi York received a 4.5 percent pay increase from county commissioners at their meeting Monday morning.
Her salary will increase from $126,954 to $132,667.
According to the commissioners, 3 percent of the increase is based on York’s merit pay increase. At the yearly anniversary of their hiring date, county employees are eligible for a 0 - 3 percent pay increase subject to a performance review. The remaining 1.5 percent of York’s increase is based on her certification as an International City/County Management Association (ICMA) credentialed manager. All county employees are eligible for similar increases if they complete degrees or certifications that will benefit them in their work.
“Managers are recognized by ICMA through a peer review credentialing process, and this self-directed program offers an opportunity for interested ICMA members to quantify the unique expertise they bring to their communities,” the IMCA said.
