WILKESBORO – Clifton Wayne Henderson, 76, left his earthly home on Saturday, August 31, 2019. Wayne, a native of Person County, was born Feb. 17, 1943. He was the son of the late Truitt and Etres Henderson.

He grew up in Roxboro where he lived most of his life. While in Roxboro he spent many years farming and working as a welder for Brown and Root at CP&L. Later he started his own business, Wayne’s Grading. He retired to the mountains of North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Patricia Henderson; sons, David Henderson and wife Christie of Roxboro, Bradley Donais and wife Sue of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada; daughter, Cerise Henderson Jones and husband Donnie of Ayden; step-daughters, Tracy Herman and Shelly Erdner both of Timberlake; step-son, Gerald Johnson and wife Benya of Ronda; sisters, Ruby McFarland and husband Ronald of Seagrove, and Jean James of Roxboro; brothers, Terry Henderson and wife Donna, Ronnie Henderson and wife Lori, Donnie Henderson and wife Penny and Scott Henderson all of Roxboro; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
