Clifton earns silver medal in world competition


Local martial artist Megan Clifton finished her 2018 competition season last month with a Silver Medal at her first invitation to the World Karate Commission World Championships.

Megan is an 11-year-old first degree black belt in TaeKwonDo.

She won her first national title in Speed Fighting at WKC-USA Nationals in Detroit, Mich. June 9. That earned her a spot on Team USA to represent our country in the World Championship in Dublin, Ireland.

She competed against many experienced and talented fighters from all over the world Megan trains locally at Fuller’s TaeKwon- Do of Roxboro under the instruction of Master Earl Fuller, and competitively with Team Elliot’s Family Karate (EFK) under the instruction of Master Sean Elliott, and multi-time World Champion Ms. Gina Thornton.
