The Roxboro Christmas parade is just around the corner and organizers are still accepting applications from individuals and groups who want to join in the fun.
Applications can be obtained and returned to Walker Insurance Agency, 801 N. Madison Blvd. or Westgate Properties, 163 Semora Road.
Completed applications can also be requested and returned by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline for submitting an application is Monday at 5 p.m.
The Roxboro Jaycees organize the parade each year.
The club accepts entries in a variety of categories, from marching units and emergency vehicles to antique cars, amateur floats and professionally made floats. Some categories are free to enter, while there is a fee for others.
The annual parade is set to begin at 2 p.m. Dec. 15. It will wind through Uptown Roxboro along Main Street from Carver Drive to Merritt Square.
The event is a fundraiser for the Jaycees, who settled on the theme of Christmas of Yesteryear for this year’s parade.
Anyone with questions about the parade or the process of applying for a slot in the event can contact parade co-chairs Bryan Westmoreland at 336- 599-6449 or Robby Jones at 336-599-1751.
