Chandler, Gentry earn their Eagle Scout awards

Colin Chadwick Chandler and Andrew Johnson Gentry, of Roxboro, have both earned their Eagle Scout awards. They are members of the Boy Scout Troop 239. Their Eagle Court of Honor was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 25 at Concord United Methodist Church.

Colin is the son of Chadwick (Chad) Earl and Devon Oakley Chandler. He joined the Cub Scouts in March, 2012 and earned 24 Boy Scout merit badges. Colin’s Eagle Scout leadership service project consisted of working with his Scout troop to remove and rebuild a handicapped accessible ramp at St Mark’s Episcopal Church in Rox- boro. He is a freshman at East Carolina University.

Andrew Johnson Gentry is the son of Bedford (Johnny) Johnson Gentry, Jr. and Dawn Renee Oakley. He joined the Cub Scouts in March, 2011 and earned 29 Boy Scout merit badges. Andrew’s Eagle Scout leadership service project consisted of working with his Scout troop to plant new posts and mount the 911 signs designating the new boundaries for the Ceffo Volunteer Fire Department service area. Andrew is attending classes at Piedmont Community College.
