Cases continue coming in, county’s worst week gets worse


The cases continue to roll in for the Person County Health Department.
The department announced another case Friday afternoon that takes the county’s total to 47 since March 24.
Of the total, 33 have been released from isolation while 12 are being monitored at home.
Friday was the fourth straight day of more cases after a single case was announced Tuesday and Wednesday and seven new cases were reported on Thursday.
One individual has been hospitalized between the updates Thursday and Friday.
There has been one COVID-related death.
Friday’s announcement adds to the county’s worst week since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic began – now at 13 new cases since Sunday.
